Storyline

Plot Summary	A former rockstar Johnny Boz is brutally killed during sex , and the case is assigned to the Detective Nick Curran of the SFPD . During the investigation , Nick meets Catherine Tramell , a crime novelist who was Boz's girlfriend when he died . Catherine proves to be a very clever and manipulative woman , and though Nick is more or less convinced that she murdered Boz , he is unable to find any evidence . Later , when Nilsen , Nick's rival in the police is killed , Nick suspects of Catherine's involvement in it . He then starts to play a dangerous lust-filled mind game with Catherine to nail her , but as their relationship progresses , the body count rises and contradicting evidences force Nick to start questioning his own suspicions about Catherine's guilt .

Amoral, catching and highly entertaining

The following movie tops the list of my favourites, although I perfectly see its minor disadvantages. This movie is a masterpiece and I definitely mean it. The film provokes feelings and emotions and you keep it in your mind and soul for another three days after the watching. Instinct was a box office winner, and it made Sharon Stone a star no matter how rough and tough all critics were.

The performance is simply MIND-BLOWING, the one to impress and admire with. This movie has nothing in common with usual cheap flicks since it is a classic. It is one of the first movies where love and sex were shown public without any hidden details and actually hints.

The movie is brutal and but it will keep you in suspense during the whole time of watching. It's is real and very believable. My special thanks go to the cast and the script and the direction which were top notch.

The plot revolves around Johny Boz’s murder taking place when Boz was having sex. Nick , the detective responsible for the case meets Catherine, a writer and Boz’s girlfriend. The detective greatly suspects Catherine yet he is totally unable to collect evidence. As the movie progresses, Nilson, an official in rivalry with Nick gets killed; then Nick’s suspicions about Boz’s girlfriend start to rise even more. The smart detective eventually resorts to tricks that would uncover Catherine. Yet, the number of murders is increasing a long with unexplainable twisted and confusing incidents that make Nick suspect his own decisions about Catherine.
