Storyline

Plot Summary	In a futuristic world, a strict regime has eliminated war by suppressing emotions: books, art and music are strictly forbidden and feeling is a crime punishable by death. Cleric John Preston (Bale) is a top ranking government agent responsible for destroying those who resist the rules. Whe he misses a dose of Prozium, a mind-altering drug that hinders emotion, Preston, who has been trained to enforce the strict laws of the new regime, suddenly becomes the only person capable of overthrowing it.

Equilibrium Review

The plot is set somewhere after the end of the third World War when the whole is under the control of the Tetragrammaton and of the Father. These two have formed a form of government that forbids the existence of any form of art or emotion. The whole situation got so far that the citizens are encouraged to take drugs in order to control and even eliminate their emotions. John Preston is hired by this system to eliminate anybody who felt anything. However, one day he does not take his suppressants and starts feeling empathy, and everything changes.
