Storyline

Plot Summary	In the weekend after thanksgiving 1973 the Hoods are skidding out of control. Benjamin Hood reels from drink to drink, trying not to think about his trouble at the office. His wife, Elena, is reading self help books and losing patience with her husband's lies. Their son, Paul, home for the holidays, escapes to the city to pursue an alluring rich girl from his prep school. And young, budding nymphomaniac, Wendy Hood roams the neighborhood, innocently exploring liquor cabinets and lingerie drawers of her friends' parents, looking for something new. Then an ice storm hits, the worst in a century. Things get bad...

Excellent, brilliant and mind-blowing

I saw this movie in the cinema and it left me nearly speechless. I liked the atmosphere in the theater – there were no children there, nobody was munching on crisps, or muttering about something. The movie is serious and great.

The movie has nearly broke my heart. I even can’t think of any drawbacks and minuses, the movie cut me to the quick. Everything was amazing. Every performance was perfect, the direction by Ang Lee was incredible and deliberate. The movie was THAT fantastic that I was sitting with my mouth slightly agape most of the time.

Frankly speaking, it is one the most compelling movies that I have ever seen.
