| Plot Summary | Following the murder of her father by hired hand Tom Chaney, 14-year-old farm girl Mattie Ross sets out to capture the killer. To aid her, she hires the toughest U.S. marshal she can find, a man with "true grit," Reuben J. "Rooster" Cogburn. Mattie insists on accompanying Cogburn, whose drinking, sloth, and generally reprobate character do not augment her faith in him. Against his wishes, she joins him in his trek into the Indian Nations in search of Chaney. They are joined by Texas Ranger LaBoeuf, who wants Chaney for his own purposes. Mythic, beautiful and compelling
posted on May 5, 2011Wow, this film has magic … it is one of the best movies and it offers us good old fashioned story telling … I am a fierce John Wayne fan and he was fantastic as Rooster in True Grit but to put it short, the movie is brilliant and I really enjoyed watching it.
While watching the film, do not compare it to the original version since both of them are amazing. However, the best acting was done by Hailee Steinfeld. This film was an excellent combination of both western and comedy. I would love to buy this film on DVD.
